Financial Assistance:

Monsignor Duffy, the Archdiocesan Treasurer, wrote to all parish priests in August 2008, with a request for financial assistance in funding new and ongoing Diocesan projects in 2009. He was particularly grateful to those parishes that have supported the Diocese in previous years, by providing interest-free loans from surplus parish funds.

Our term deposit account with the Clydesdale Bank completed on 7th January 2009, so we are now in a position to offer our support.

The Fabric and Finance Committee, with Fr Forrest’s consent, has decided to offer the Archdiocese an interest-free loan of £50,000. These funds will be transferred to the Archdiocese within the next few days.

Ongoing projects, such as the support of parishes that are not self-sufficient and a new project to install heating in a West Lothian church are typical examples of the way the funds are used.

Memorial Book:

At a recent meeting of the Pastoral Council, it was agreed to purchase a Memorial Book, in which names of deceased members of the parish will be entered and the book displayed in the church, open at the appropriate day.

Details required will simply be the name and date of death of the deceased person. (The book contains a double page for each day of the year, so there can be no confusion). Any parishioner wishing to enter names, please complete the slip below.

Multiple slips are available from the Pass Keepers.
