Collections: Thank you for the wonderful response to the Appeal for our retired priests last weekend. The collection amounted to £760.35! The Offertory collection realized £581.04, making a magnificent total giving of £1,341.39 I wish to express my personal appreciation and gratitude to all those who, over the years, have worked – and continue to work – for the parish, in any way whatsoever. May God bless you and the work you do.

Break: I will be away on a two-week break from Friday, 30th September. The usual warm welcome to Fr Boyd, who will be here at the weekends.

In your charity, please remember: David Cleland, Michelle Orr, and all the sick and housebound. Jean Bell, Jean Hamilton, Michael McCullough, Margaret McGeachan and Frank Maguire, whose anniversaries occur about this time. David McReynolds, who died recently.

This week, we will use our boxes to collect money for the Fr. Sukpe Pick-up Truck Appeal. Fr. Sukpe is spending a year as assistant priest at St John’s, Broxburn. His home parish in Ghana – a very deprived part of the world – is desperately in need of a pick-up truck. Please be generous in your support of this very worthy cause.

Date for your Diary: Bo’ness ‘Churches Together’ Prayer Day
The next Prayer Day will take place on Saturday, 22nd October in St Catharine’s Church, Cadzow Avenue from 10.00 am to12 noon. The Day’s theme will be based on readings from Ephesians, Chapter 6. We will be sharing verse 15:- "let the shoes on your feet be the gospel of peace, to give you firm footing", with St Andrew’s. This is the first year St Mary’s will be participating, so we hope for a good representation from the parish.

Baptisms: We are happy to announce that Jozef Fafalak (parents – Jozef and Danica), and Alex Malecka (parents – Lukasz and Barbara), were baptised at St Mary’s on 18th September. Congratulations and may God bless both families.

Teas and Coffees: Please note, that there will be NO Teas and Coffees this weekend, as the Hall will be used for a Baptism Reception. Ts+Cs next weekend instead! Everyone welcome.

Christmas Toy Appeal: The Salvation Army is urgently appealing for new children’s toys/games, to distribute among needy and vulnerable families in the area, at Christmas time. If you can contribute, please either hand your donations directly into the Salvation Army, or leave them with one of our Pass Keepers and we will forward them. Please help if you can!

Children’s Liturgy ….. All children between the ages of 3 and 12 are invited to attend – and very young children are welcome to sit at the back of the Hall with accompanied adults. We have a number of religious books that are suitable for young people – and would be grateful of any relevant donations of unwanted books, games or jigsaws in good condition. Finally- and very urgently – more Leaders are required. Full training will be given. If you can help us with this, please contact Maria Ford.

Please note:  The latest rotas are now posted in the Hall
