November is the month of the Holy Souls, when we make a special effort to help them – especially our own dear departed ones.
Collections: The Offertory Collection last week realized £458.29, and the Special Collection for the SPUC, £331.55. Grateful thanks to all contributors.
The Second Collection today will go to help the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines and there will be a Special Collection next weekend for the Pastoral Formation Fund.
In your charity, please remember: Andrew Dickson, Frances Maguire, Maisie Tooey, John Ure and Frances Wilson, whose anniversaries occur about this time.
St Andrew’s Day Service: We warmly invite all the people of the town to our St Andrews Day Mass, at 7.00pm on Friday, 29th November. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Church Hall.
Christmas Day Invitation: We have received a message from the Salvation Army, regarding a special lunch/party they intend to hold on Christmas Day, between noon and 4.00 pm. They are catering for a maximum of 35 elderly people, who are isolated and lonely and who would normally be spending Christmas Day alone. If you know anyone who would qualify for this, please see Maria Ford or one of the Pass Keepers for further details. Criteria are that guests should be over 65, would otherwise be alone and can use toilet facilities without assistance.
