Ash Wednesday is a day of Fasting and Abstinence and marks the beginning of Lent.

Ashes will be blessed and distributed at both Masses.

Easter Duty Time (reception of Holy Communion and, if necessary, Confession)begins today and lasts until after Easter.

A Plenary Indulgence is available for all who devoutly make the Way of the Cross during Lent.

Bo’ness World Day of Prayer Service: Friday 7th March, in St Andrews Church Bo’ness at 7:00pm All are welcome.

Mary’s Meals; This wonderful charity is again appealing for support….. Highlighted priority is the need for Rucksacks – plus contents (or contents to be added to rucksacks, such as jotters, pencils, rubbers etc)  Clothes – Shorts, Polo shirts, flip-flops.As well as general things such as towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and games, such as Play Ball. Please hand your donations to the Pass Keepers.

Justice and Peace Lent retreat: “One body in Christ – Many the gifts”.

Saturday 15th March, 2014, Time: 11.30-6pm, ending with a Vigil Mass, at St Catherine’s Convent, Lauriston, Edinburgh.

A contextual bible study led by Br Stephen Smyth, General Secretary of ACTS.

Tea & coffee will be provided but please bring a packed lunch. Cost: £15 (£10 unwaged).
