200 Club The 200 Club was set up many years ago to provide funds for the Church. It consists of a weekly draw of £10.00 and four additional quarterly draws of £200.00. Membership is restricted to 200 contributors, who can join at any time and who pay a mere 25p a week – or £13 p/a. (Annual subscriptions are due in January) Currently, we have 40 spare numbers! Carfin: The national annual Pilgrimage to Carfin, in honour of St Margaret of Scotland, will take place next Sunday, 4th September. At 3.00 pm, Mass will be concelebrated by the Bishops and Priests.

Film Show – this evening in the Church Hall: At 7.00 pm this evening, we will be showing the film "Generation Hope," which describes the pioneering work of ‘Mary’s Meals’ across the world. Filmed on locations in Malawi, Haiti and India, the film highlights the extraordinary difference that receiving a regular daily meal in school can make to children growing up in some of the world’s most deprived areas. The thirty minute film will be introduced by John Helliwell of Mary’s Meals, who, following the presentation, will explain and describe the background of the charity.Everyone is welcome to this event…. We hope you’ll join us!

Health and Safety Issues: During the past 6 months, there have been two instances of parishioners falling on the church steps, despite the fact that non-slip steps were installed last year. In accordance with our health and safety rules, the Fabric Committee has undertaken a risk assessment and is researching further measures to reduce, as far as is reasonably practicable, the risk of any further falls.

However, we ask that:

· If you use the steps, please use the handrails provided

· If you are carrying anything, please use the slope provided

· If you are unsteady on your feet, please use the slope

· If you need any assistance – just ask!

…. and of course there is another access slope at the rear entrance to the church.

These are just sensible measures to ensure that no-one is seriously hurt in the future.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
