Diocesan News: On Tuesday, 29th May, Archbishop Cushley officially opened the new Pro-Life Office at the Gillis Centre, with a timely reminder that the struggle against abortion must continue despite the recent result in Ireland. Did you know:

  • Since the Abortion Act of 1967, there have been approximately half a million unborn babies killed in Scotland.
  • The World Health Organisation released figures showing that, per year, there are seven million deaths from Hunger; eight million from Cancer and fifty-six million Abortions.
  • The Decriminalisation Bill, that is currently being debated, would mean that abortions could occur without the existing restrictions (e.g. Two doctors to sign forms etc), thus making abortions vastly easier to obtain.
  • We can act NOW and lobby our MP to vote against this Discrimination Bill.
