LENT: On Wednesdays at 7pm throughout Lent there will Stations of the Cross and a Holy Communion Service.

 DATES FOR YOUR DIARY: There will be a St Patrick’s Night Out at St Francis Xavier, Falkirk on 20th March. The cost is £12 to include a two course meal – bring your own refreshments! Anyone who wants to go please let Julia Cameron know as soon as possible.

The next meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) will take place on 20 March at 7.30pm in the hall. All are welcome.

 A Bottle Bingo Evening will be held on Friday 29 March at 7pm in the church hall. Tickets are still available and donations of prizes would be very much appreciated.

SVP NEWS: Caravan Holidays for 2019 (of one week’s duration), Port Seton, West Lothian. Available for church members – Saturday May 25thand Saturday August 17th. We also have a slot for Saturday August 10th, but as this is during the school holidays, it will be reserved for a family with children. Transport will be provided, if needed. Lists will be available soon, or come and have a private word – we need a full name, address and telephone number.

COLLECTIONS: The Offertory Collection last weekend realised £420.85 and the Second Collection £99.90. Grateful thanks to all donors.

LENTEN TALKS FOR YOUNG ADULTS: AN INVITATION: Archbishop Leo Cushley would like to invite the young adults of the Archdiocese of St Andrews & Edinburgh to join him for a series of talks during Lent, to be given by himself and beginning this Sunday, entitled “On the Way: Walking with Jesus and His Disciples towards Jerusalem”. The talks will take place on Sunday 24 March and Sunday 7 April from 5pm to 7pm at the Gillis Centre, 100 Strathearn Road, Edinburgh, EH9 1BB. The evening will consist of a talk by the Archbishop, Q&A, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Benediction and Confession, and will conclude with social time and pizza.

SAVE THIS DATE: On Thursday 14th March 2019, Father Forrest will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood, 60 years ago in 1959. As a parish, we will be celebrating this important occasion and we would like to extend an invite to everyone to join us.

On Thursday 14th March 2019, Mass will be celebrated at 10am with the schoolchildren from St. Mary’s and all are very welcome to come along. In the evening at 7pm, Mass will be celebrated with Archbishop Cushley and other clergy also in attendance. Again, you are very welcome to attend this celebration which will be followed by refreshments. On Sunday 17th March 2019, we will further celebrate Father Forrest’s Diamond Jubilee at the 10am Mass which will be followed by refreshments.

Over the coming weeks, the Piety Stall will have a range of cards available to purchase for this special occasion.

OTHER DATES FOR YOUR DIARY: 2019 World Day of Prayer.  ‘Come – Everything is Ready’ written by the women of Slovenia.  ‘Bo’ness Churches Together’ has organised this event in Craigmailen Church on Friday 1 March at 7:30pm. Refreshments will follow and all are welcome to attend.

On Friday 1 March the St Mary’s Nursery will be holding a ‘Flower Crown Workshop’ from 7pm – 9pm in the church hall. See the poster in the hall for details.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY: We have been looking at the meanings of The Lord’s Prayer. We discussed poverty and the importance of food, water and a roof over our heads. Next Sunday the children are going to bring at least one item for the food bank. THE ‘OUR FATHER’: During last year’s Annual Parish Assembly, some parishioners suggested that saying (rather than singing) the ‘Our Father’ may encourage more parishioners to join in with this prayer. As a result of this, over the coming two weeks, the Our Father will be said rather than sung, and a period of informal consultation will follow. Please let the pass-keepers or any member of the Parish Pastoral Council know your thoughts during this few weeks, or you can drop an email to info@rcboness.org.

Bo’ness Children’s Fair: Good luck to all of our children who are taking part in the Fair on Friday – have a great day!

SVP News: Many thanks to all who helped over the last financial year. We raised over £4,000 – and spent just under that amount. A full financial breakdown is available on request to all Parishioners.

Parish Youth Group: We aim to provide a fun environment for children and young people to enjoy games and learn new skills whilst also learning about our faith. The age group targeted is the Upper Primary to Lower Secondary School level. Live-Stream Volunteers: Our live broadcasts of Sunday Mass continue to be very successful with around 20 people tuning in to watch each week.
