General Volunteer Registration: As part of our Safeguarding procedures, it is essential that we hold accurate and up to date details on all volunteers. If you take part in regulated work (routinely working with children or vulnerable adults) you must have a PVG and have completed safeguarding training with the Church. For all other roles (including, but not limited to, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Gardeners, Cleaners, Minibus Drivers, Committee Members, SSVP and any other role supporting the parish) you must complete the online form at: https://bit.ly/volunteeratstmarys. Please let us know if you don’t have internet access and we’ll support you with completing this.
The Offertory Collection last weekend amounted to £393.41; in addition, £345 per month is given through the direct debit facility. Grateful thanks to all donors.
Dates for your Diary:
Sunday 10th August: Our annual parish fun day will take place in the church grounds from 1pm – 4pm, and all are very welcome to attend! As in previous years, we’ll have a BBQ, other light refreshments, a bouncy castle and a range of fun activities. We hope to be joined by the emergency services too. Please spread the word!
Thursday 14th August: At 7pm we’ll celebrate the Vigil Mass of Our Lady of the Assumption, our parish’s patron. We’d love to have as many parishioners as possible join us to mark our patronal feast day, and we’ll have tea, coffee and light refreshments in the church hall after Mass. Please join us!
Sunday 31st August: We’d like to extend a special invitation to all the children who’ve been on their sacramental journey this year – those who’ve made their First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion or Confirmation – to join us with their families for the 10am Mass. This will be a special celebration for you, and we’ll have some refreshments in the church hall after Mass.
